Peta brings together a variety of textile processes and mixed materials, creating hybrid abstract works.
She invites the viewer to re-negotiate and re-examine duality by seeking to bridge polar opposites: Coherence/ Chaos, Internal/External, Light/Dark and the perpetual relationship between Creation and Destruction.
Peta Jacobs has a First Class BA in Textile Design and an MA in Textiles and is currently undertaking a practice-based PhD at the University for the Creative Arts.

“Space, time, material, are they one with Light?”
László Moholy Nagy, Light Vision, 1917.
Peta embraces this question posed by László Moholy Nagy. Her theoretical research has led her to investigate the paradox of immaterial substance explained by both quantum physics and eastern mystical experience. Peta questions certainty and perception by presenting shifting views relative to viewpoint.
